The Vietnamese province of Lao Cai is ready to expand business and humanitarian contacts with the Brest region

May 18, MINSK. Chinh Xuan Chiong, Chairman of the People's Committee (Government) of Lao Cai Province of Vietnam, took part in the international forum via videoconference. This was told to a BelTA correspondent at the Belarusian foreign mission in Vietnam.

The representative of Vietnam participated in the event thanks to the support of the Embassy of Belarus in Hanoi. Chinh Xuan Chiong focused on the existing potential for the development of trade and economic relations between the regions of Belarus and Vietnam. He expressed the readiness of Lao Cai Province to expand business and humanitarian contacts with Belarusian partners.

The participation of Lao Cai province in the Brest-2022 forum was another step towards strengthening interregional ties, including within the framework of the agreement on trade, economic, scientific, technical and cultural cooperation concluded in 2017 between the Brest region and Lao Cai province.

Belarus' main exports to Vietnam in recent years have been potash fertilizers, trucks, mining trucks, tractors, tires, MILK and dairy products, frozen beef, synthetic threads, and polyamides. Belarus' main imports from Vietnam are communications equipment, computer and office equipment, seafood, rice, nuts, footwear and clothing, natural rubber, tropical fruits, tea, coffee and spices.
