
November 16, MINSK. Cucumbers and tomatoes became more expensive in October, while citrus fruits fell in price, BelTA informs referring to the analytical information of the Ministry of Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade.
"In October 2021, the annual increase in consumer prices in general and prices for socially significant goods (NWT) was recorded at the level of 10.5%. The increased growth in food prices is mainly due to the persistence of negative trends in foreign markets. Goods in the fruit and vegetable segment, according to MART, have risen in price by 24.8% over the year (14.2% in September), MILK and dairy products - by 7.7%, cereals and legumes - by 6.1%, furniture - by 14.5%, footwear - by 2.9%, housing and communal services - by 12.1%.
Over the past month, there has been an increase in prices for potatoes (by 7.1%) and other vegetables, including tomatoes - by 43.2% and cucumbers - by 65.8% (however, compared to December 2020, tomatoes fell in price by 7.8%, cucumbers - by 26.5%). At the same time, fruits in October fell by 0.9% compared to September 2021, largely due to a decrease in prices for citrus fruits by 11.7%.
Confectionery and furniture rose in price by 1.6%, meat and meat products - by 1.4%, milk and dairy products - by 1%, clothes - by 0.7%. There is a decrease in tariffs for air transport (by 3.8%) and passenger transportation by international rail transport (by 10.8%).
In the area of permanently regulated pricing, following the results of October, the increase in prices and tariffs in annual terms amounted to 10.7%.
During the month, there is a planned increase in tariffs for heating (by 12.2%) and elevator services (by 62.3%). In addition, tariffs for medical services have been increased (by 0.4%).
