October 30, MINSK . In the Minsk region over the nine months of this year, more than 1.6 million tons of MILK were produced. A BELTA correspondent was informed about this by the Committee on Agriculture and Food of the Minsk Regional Executive Committee.
"In January - September, the region's farms produced over 1.6 million tons of milk. The growth rate was 105.3% compared to last year. Almost all districts of the region show a steady increase in production. The average daily milk yield per cow for three quarters of the year was 4945 kg (+265 kg compared to last year),” said Vladimir Kapustin, deputy chairman of the committee.In September alone, 17 thousand tons of milk were produced in the Slutsk region, 13 thousand tons in the Kopyl region, 11 thousand tons in the Dzerzhinsky region.
“As for the quality of milk, approximately 70% is sold as an extra variety. The marketability of products for 9 months was 91.6%,” added Vladimir Kapustin.
In total, in the Minsk region there are 944 thousand heads of cattle , of which 321.5 thousand are dairy herds.
