
April 10, MINSK. Prices for carrots and potatoes rose in March, while cucumbers and grapes fell in price, BelTA informs citing data from the National Statistical Committee.
Carrots went up by 8.05%, potatoes - by 5.92%, beets - by 4.51%, garlic - by 4.21%, pears - by 3.94%, citrus fruits - by 1.64%. Cucumbers became cheaper by 34.54%, grapes - by 7.21%, peppers - by 2.04%, bananas - by 1.49%, onions - by 0.34%, apples - by 0.21%.
In general, vegetables became cheaper by 8.95%, fruits - by 0.95%. MEAT and meat products went up by 1.33%. MILK and dairy products fell in price by 0.1%. Bread and bakery products became more expensive by 0.47%, fish and fish products - by 0.31%.
Lunches in the canteen became more expensive by 1%. In restaurants and cafes, they rose in price by 1.29%, fast food - by 0.68%.
Tobacco products rose in price by 0.69%, alcoholic beverages - by 0.51%.
Non-food products in March became more expensive by 1.37%. Clothes went up by 1.14%, shoes - by 2.97%, furniture - by 1.84%, electrical goods - by 0.8%, building materials - by 1.45%, medicines - by 1.74%.
The cost of services increased by 0.3%. In March, hotel services (by 1.5%), clothing repair (by 1.97%), dry cleaning (by 1.68%), technical inspection of vehicles (by 1.45%) rose in price. Funeral services became cheaper (by 1.06%), railway transport (by 1.1%), insurance (by 1.17%).
As reported, inflation in Belarus in March amounted to 0.7%.
