
July 4, MINSK. In Latvia, prices for vegetables and dairy products soared. This is evidenced by the data of the Center for Assistance to the Agricultural Market (CSSR), reports the Latvian portal Mixnews.
In June of this year, compared to June last year, food prices rose in all categories. Groceries, vegetables and dairy products are the biggest growth. In the segment of groceries, the largest increase in prices occurred for SALT. it has risen in price by 179%, buckwheat - by 102%, rapeseed oil - by 76%. Among fresh vegetables, the price of cabbage increased the most - by 59%, beets - by 67%, potatoes - by 43%. Among fruits - oranges (by 22%). The largest increase in the prices of dairy products was for packaged MILK0.5% fat content - by 53%, butter - by 48%, sour cream with 25% fat content - by 45%. Fresh MEAT also went up in price: beef fillet was the most expensive - by 67%.The HEAD of the CSSR, Inguna Gulbe, believes that in the future there will be an increasingly significant increase in prices, a change in the range of products and, most likely, its narrowing. It is unlikely that 11 types of fresh tomatoes will be sold, as it was in June. Some companies are already reviewing their product portfolio, looking for cheaper solutions so that people's baskets do not remain empty at the new prices.
