Almost 40 livestock facilities are being built in the Brest region

April 6, Kobrin. Nearly 40 livestock facilities are being built in the Brest region this year, chairman of the regional executive committee Yury Shuleiko told reporters in Kobrin today, BelTA has learned.

"We have ambitious plans to increase the volume of livestock production. We are building a lot, commissioning new and reconstructing dairy farms. This year we have a fairly serious backlog - about 38 livestock facilities. Including by Independence Day, we plan to commission six significant objects," said Yury Shuleiko.

He noted that now in the region, on average, 250 tons more milk is produced per day compared to the level of last year. According to the results of last year, the average milk yield per cow in the agricultural organizations of the region exceeded 6.5 thousand kg. There are complexes (in particular, PUE Molodovo-Agro, Ivanovsky District), where more than 12,000 kg of milk is obtained from a cow. The region also has some of the best indicators in terms of average daily weight gain in pig breeding, poultry farming, and in complexes for keeping and fattening cattle.

The governor called the second "Dazhynkami" the honoring of the winners of the annual regional competition for achieving high performance in livestock production in 2021, which took place today in Kobrin. Berezovsky, Drogichinsky and Ivanovsky districts are recognized as leaders in the production and sale of milk, and Stolin, Pinsky and Pruzhany districts in meat production. Certificates of honor, thanks and diplomas were awarded to dozens of the best foremen of the ITF, veterinarians, livestock specialists, insemination operators, machine milking operators, and heads of agricultural products.

The solemn event was attended by Minister of Agriculture and Food Igor Brylo and Chairman of the Belarusian Trade Union of Agro-Industrial Complex Workers Vasily Khvatik.
