From December 15, England has a new quarantine restriction scheme for arrivals from abroad. This is stated in a message published on the UK government website. The scheme is valid only in England. Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland set their own rules.
Prior to this, there was a rule on mandatory ten-day self-isolation for those arriving from places not included in a special list of allowed countries. Under the new Pass Test scheme, you can take a COVID test after five days of mandatory self-isolation. However, one of the private laboratories will have to pay for the test, and every person who wants to use this program, even children, must take it. As soon as a negative test result arrives, self-isolation ends.
If a citizen who has arrived in England does not want to participate in the program, he will have to follow the usual rules. “If you do not wish to use the Pass Test scheme, you will need to self-isolate for ten full days after you last traveled to a location not on the list of countries open to travel,” the instructions say.
You need to sign up for the test two days before your arrival in England, as well as fill out a special travel form. However, if someone did not have time to sign up, he will be able to complete all the documents during the five-day self-isolation before the paid test.
