Fertilizers, halal products, cooperation in engineering: what Belarus offers to Indonesia

May 25, Moscow . Belarus and Indonesia managed to work out alternative logistics routes and maintain supplies of Belarusian potash fertilizers. Nikolai Borisevich, DIRECTOR of the National Center for Marketing and Price Study of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus, said this during the EAEU-Indonesia business dialogue, which took place on May 25 in Moscow on the sidelines of the 2nd Eurasian Economic Forum, BelTA has learned.

"In the field of food security, we have increased the supply of dairy products several times - this applies to MILK powder, whey powder. One of the promising areas is the supply of halal products: last year a memorandum of cooperation in the field of standardization was signed to ensure the quality of such products. This We will actively develop the sphere," Nikolai Borisevich said.

He also noted that there are serious prospects for cooperation between Belarus and the entire EAEU with Indonesia in the field of mechanical engineering, since this country is one of the leaders in the production of automotive components. "Prospects for cooperation are very large, and it is necessary to use them," Nikolai Borisevich emphasized.

According to him, Indonesia has been and remains a key partner in the region for Belarus. At the same time, the director of the National Center for Marketing and Price Study stated that Belarus has never had any political disagreements with Indonesia. "We are always trying to transform this advantage into an added value of our trade and economic relations," he said.

Nikolai Borisevich drew attention to the fact that Belarus and Indonesia have a good regulatory framework for cooperation, an intergovernmental commission is working, a joint export-import nomenclature consists of several hundred items. Speaking about the prospects for concluding an agreement between the EAEU and Indonesia on the creation of a free trade zone, he noted that Belarus strongly supports this initiative.

In addition, Nikolai Borisevich announced a Belarusian-Indonesian business forum to be held at the Belarusian Embassy in RUSSIA on May 26, the participants of which will discuss specific prospects for cooperation.
