Turchin opened a unique livestock complex in Belarus

March 30, Lyubansky district. Alexander Turchin, chairman of the Minsk Regional Executive Committee, solemnly opened a livestock breeding complex, unique in Belarus, in Lyubansky district today, BelTA has learned.

The modernized livestock complex of JSC "Rechen" belongs to the holding "Belaruskali-Agro". The project is aimed at creating technologically favorable conditions for the maintenance and rearing of replacement young animals for the companies that are part of the holding.

The production capacity is 2.4 thousand heifers per year, which will meet the needs of Belaruskali-Agro farms. The complex has implemented modern approaches to animal husbandry, including automation, modern digitalization tools. The idea is to concentrate the livestock and the most important on one site, as well as highly qualified specialists, almost from birth to calving. The concentration of specialists will allow them to perform their professional duties at one site, without wasting time moving around the existing 14 livestock farms. The rearing technology makes it possible to perform all technological operations to obtain a full-fledged heifer with a productivity of 9 thousand liters per year.

"The president has said more than once: if you don't know how to raise calves, give them to those who know how to do it. With the right technology, we get a normal heifer, which is 100% safe here," said Alexander Turchin. According to him, such projects need to be scaled throughout the region.

"My deepest conviction is that the situation in the economy cannot be improved by punitive measures. Agriculture needs technology just like industry and other industries. And today we see a technological facility - it is the beginning of the milk production process," the governor said.

The details of the implemented project were shared by the General Director of JSC "Belaruskali" Ivan Golovaty: "Usually Belaruskali puts into operation new potash plants, builds mines and factories, and here we are meeting today in an agro-town. Indeed, this is a separate area of ​​the enterprise, which has been implemented for a long time for 5 years. In agriculture, this is our completed first facility - a complex for 6 thousand calves. At the same time, today the task is to ensure high-quality rearing of heifers, care for them, feeding in order to prepare the livestock for subsequent milk production. Today we are starting not with dairy -commercial farms, namely from the heifer complex - from the very beginning. So that in the near future those heifers that will be grown on this complex will go to dairy farms."

He also spoke about further plans for the development of the agricultural direction in the activities of the enterprise. Thus, the construction of a new farm is expected to be completed next summer, feedlots are being built. At the same time, ensuring efficiency in animal husbandry is at the forefront.
