February 9, MINSK. The updated Basic Law will become the Constitution of the future. This opinion was expressed by Mikhail Rusy, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Council of the Republic on Regional Policy and Local Self-Government, on the air of the TV channel, BelTA informs.
Answering the question of the host of the "Senate" column why some countries do not like the Belarusian path and the chosen strategy, Mikhail Rusy stressed that after the sixth All-Belarusian People's Assembly the correctness of the chosen path, which was approved by the HEAD of state since 1994, was confirmed. The senator asked a rhetorical question: “Who benefits from having a small state that produces every tenth tractor, every third heavy truck, occupies 2-3-4th places in the world EXPORT of cheese, butter, powdered MILK, which has a third of the supply of potash fertilizers? A lot of people don't like the state.
In his opinion, itself (every word, every phrase) is very important for the life and development of the country. Mikhail Rusy is convinced that the Constitution of 1994 has taken place: "This is the Constitution of development, the formation of statehood. That Constitution was for a strong personality, for a strong President."“Now there are other circumstances, other realities, conditions. Therefore, the Constitution provides for the expansion of democracy through the All-Belarusian People's Assembly. The draft states that every citizen who believes that his rights have been violated has the right to apply to the Constitutional COURT within the framework of the Constitution. powers between the President and the government, the powers of local authorities have been expanded. But one of the most important areas is that the Constitution spells out social guarantees for our people. All the rights and freedoms of citizens are guaranteed for medical care, for social benefits and payments where necessary, for education and work. Therefore, I believe that this is for our grandchildren, children. This is the Constitution of the future," Mikhail Rusy said.
He also drew attention to the fact that the draft stipulates that no aggression will be allowed from the country's territory. "We will defend ourselves, but there will be no aggression from our side. That is, the country is peaceful," stressed the Chairman of the Standing Commission.
Mikhail Rusy shared that he participated in many dialogue platforms, met with labor collectives.
