An increase in industrial production for the first half of the year is expected in the Postavy region

May 24, Postavy. The results of the socio-economic development of the district for the current period of 2024 and the increase in the efficiency of organizations are being considered at a meeting of the Postavy district executive committee, BELTA reports.
The meeting is attended by the Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly, deputy for the Postavy constituency No. 29 Igor Sergeenko, as well as the Chairman of the Board of the NATIONAL BANK Pavel Kallaur.



The Chairman of the Postavy District Executive Committee, Sergei Chepik, opening the meeting, cited as an example some positive results of socio-economic development and immediately drew attention to areas where improvements are required, calling for the implementation of all the achieved indicators. The results of work in certain areas, he said, are cause for concern. “I believe that our human resources and raw material resources potential is quite decent,” he concluded, adding that the region has something to strive for. "In January - March 2024, the region's industry generated a net profit of Br2.6 million - an increase of 9 times compared to the level of January - March 2023. Revenue was received in the amount of Br71.5 million - 115.9% compared to January - March 2023,” said Deputy Chairman of the District Executive Committee Irina Nesterenok.

By January-March last year, district organizations increased production of parquet slabs, furniture, lumber with a thickness of more than 6 mm, wood chips, hard cheeses, rag products, and unspun flax fiber. They are actively developing new types of import-substituting products here. The Postavy Dairy Plant OJSC - cheeses - and the Postavy Furniture Center private unitary enterprise, which produces parquet, furniture and doors in an assortment, are working successfully in this regard. The total volume of output of import-substituting products amounted to $11.7 million.
it is expected that for the first half of the year, industrial organizations in the region will operate with growth compared to the same period in 2023.

As part of the order of the HEAD of state “One district - one project”, an investment project is being implemented at the Postavy Dairy Plant OJSC to organize the production of dairy products. It is being carried out in two stages: the purchase of equipment for the production of cottage cheese (the first batch of technological equipment has already arrived, full delivery is expected at the end of the six months), then - equipment for bottling MILK into plastic bottles. Six proposals have been received for the latter and are currently being studied.

In addition to the modernization of other production facilities and technical re-equipment, among the tasks for 2024 in the industrial complex of the region is the search for new sales markets, both in neighboring RUSSIA and in distant countries.
