Brest today is the 77th anniversary of its liberation from the Nazi invaders. In a series of festive events, one thing happened - unplanned and, it would seem, not directly related to urban realities, but this aroused even greater interest among journalists who were greedy for exclusivity. And at the agreed time, an impressive cortege of cars was already dusting along the stubble of freshly cut rye in the Doropeevichi farm in the Malorita district in the direction of a peacefully working harvester.
Harvester of Sergey and Maxim Boyko at the harvest in the farm "Doropeevichi"The intrigue was opened by the chairman of the Brest City Executive Committee Alexander Rogachuk, who came to personally congratulate the family crew of combine operators Sergei and Maxim Boyko on the City Day. They were the first in the Malorita region to come close to threshing a thousand tons of grain. The senior combine operator Sergey Boyko is an experienced machine operator, who is entrusted with the most complex tasks on the farm. For the fourth year in a row, his son Maxim, a future mechanical engineer, a 3rd year student of the Brest State Technical University, has been his assistant at the harvest. Actually, these two circumstances explain the desire of the mayor to personally meet the leaders.
During congratulations"Probably, for the first time on the Liberation Day of Brest, we congratulate the farmers. Our city has stepped into the second millennium, and your crew is confidently moving towards milling a thousand tons of grain. These are beautiful and symbolic figures. Your conscientious work is the key to the country's food security. You are an example for imitation, hope and support of our state. Brest is grateful to you and in your person - to all the workers of the village of the region," said Alexander Rogachuk.
Sergey and Maxim BoykoHe presented the combine operators with souvenirs issued for the 1000th anniversary of Brest: a medal, commemorative coins, a book, T-shirts and caps with the symbols of the city. He wished the family crew high achievements in the grain field.
Father and son were touched by such attention, but even more so by the appearance on the field of the popular Belarusian singer and actress Alexandra Gaiduk. As it turned out, she came to the holiday in the city of her youth and did not want to stay away from such an outstanding event. “Every year I celebrate this day with my countrymen. The liberation of Brest is also a great holiday for me, because I grew up here, in the family of a military man. I think that each of us draws this life-giving force, energy, inspiration from our native land. It is very important when there are these values in life - what we cherish, what allows us to be friends, be together, work, enjoy each other's success," the singer said.
The stage for Alexandra Gaiduk today was the steps of the high-performance domestic harvester Palesse KZS-1218. With the proviso that "this is generally some kind of incredible experiment," she performed a cappella a fragment of the Belarusian folk song "Kupalinka". She was rewarded with sincere applause from a small but grateful audience.
Alexandra Gaiduk, Sergey and Maxim BoykoBut, as they say, business - time, fun - an hour. The guests did not delay the grain growers in their desire to quickly sit at the helm of the harvester. "We thresh almost up to a hundred tons a day, for our sandy lands this is a very good result. The harvest is good - look how beautiful the rye is. And the weather, dry and hot, is conducive to harvesting. Yesterday it rained, so today we went out into the field later, but but we rested a little, slept an extra hour," Sergei Boyko said.
Maxim continues the family dynasty: like his father in his time, he, one might say, grew up in a machine operator's cabin. “Now I have an internship, I just have the opportunity to work with my father, earn money and study. Working with equipment, including complex machines, gives tremendous experience that cannot be obtained in the classroom. For my profession, this is very important,” said the future mechanical engineer.
Harvester of Sergey and Maxim Boyko at the harvest in the farm "Doropeevichi"SPK "Doropeevichi" is one of the smallest agricultural enterprises in the Malorita region. At the same time, it is one of the three leaders in the region in terms of milk production, and its share in the regional bread loaf is approximately 12%. Cereals have already been harvested on 80% of the area. “We started harvesting a week earlier this year. There were good weather conditions. There are practically no losses. You can see for yourself what a clean field. I think that we will gain last year’s shaft, but due to the drought we have lost a little in yield - today it is about 39 centners / ha," said Vasily Yukhimuk, chairman of the SEC.
In general, the Malorita region has already crossed the harvest equator. The crops of winter rapeseed have been completely harvested with a yield of 20 centners per hectare, almost all combines have switched to grain crops. “First of all, the emphasis was on crops that can crumble: barley, oats, rapeseed, now it’s rye, well, triticale will remain. I think we will add up to 6% daily. The yield and shaft should not be lower than last year. If nothing It doesn’t hurt, we’ll complete the harvesting campaign in 10-12 days,” summed up the first deputy chairman of the Malorita district executive committee, head of the department for agriculture and food Vadim Golovchik.
And on the horizon of agricultural concerns is already the next year's harvest. To fully move to the next stage of work, you need to complete the current ones. While the farmers are not up to rest. The more pleasant it will be to feel the weighty result of your work later.
