May 19, Vitebsk. The prosecutor's office of the Vitebsk region analyzed the state of affairs in the agro-industrial complex in terms of the safety of livestock. Such information is posted on the website of the Prosecutor General's Office, BelTA informs.
it has been established that not all agro-industrial enterprises fully complied with the requirements for the growth of indicators in the area of animal husbandry, the reduction of unproductive disposal of livestock, the maintenance of proper primary accounting, and supplies to MEAT processing plants. Thus, in Braslav, Miory, Glubokoe, Verhnedvinsk, Dubrovensky and Sharkovshchina districts, a decrease in the number of cattle was observed from year to year. Since the beginning of 2021, there has been an increase in the case by 287 heads in Vitebsk, Verkhnedvinsk, Sharkovshchinsky, Glubokoe and Chashniksky districts.
Unproductive disposal is associated with inadequate feed quality, ignoring veterinary and sanitary requirements for livestock buildings, violation of cow feeding technology, non-compliance with the production process of calf rearing. Due to an inadequate diet, the lack of feed additives, the productivity of cows and the level of MILK production have decreased. At the same time, milk consumption for on-farm consumption increased.
A number of prosecutors' comments related to the identification and registration of animals (herds). For example, in some farms of the Polotsk, Braslav, Miory, Chashnik and Senno regions there were no professionally trained specialists. This did not allow even the primary and zootechnical registration of farm animals to be performed at the proper level.
In connection with the cases of death of young animals that have become more frequent in Dokshitsky, Rossony and other regions, forgery of documents, distortion of statistical reporting to hide the real situation have become widespread. From January 1 to May 1, 2021, the criminal prosecution authorities initiated 16 criminal cases on the facts of entering false information in official documents about the death, theft and shortage of livestock.
Based on the results of the analysis, the prosecutor's office of the Vitebsk region sent an information note to the chairman of the regional executive committee on violations of the law at livestock facilities in agricultural organizations, in which he proposed specific measures to restore order in the livestock sector.
In total, in 2020 and for the past period of 2021, the prosecution authorities of the Vitebsk region made 75 submissions on the issues of livestock safety, brought to justice more than 200 officials, filed 70 claims for compensation for damages in the amount of more than Br20.5 thousand.
