August 27, Vitebsk. In the Vitebsk region, agricultural production increased by 7.4% in January-July, BelTA learned from the main statistical department of the Vitebsk region.
Agricultural organizations, peasant farms and private households of the population of the region in terms of production exceeded the indicator of the same period last year by 7.4% in comparable prices. Agricultural organizations produced products worth more than Br1.29 billion, or 108.3% in comparable prices compared to the figure for 7 months of last year.
Farms of all categories produced 140.8 thousand tons of livestock and poultry, 460.4 thousand tons of
MILK. 273.4 million eggs were received. The share of agricultural organizations accounts for 97% of the total production of livestock and poultry (in live weight), milk - 93.5%, egg production - 83.9%.
As of August 1, there were 534.4 thousand heads of cattle in the agricultural organizations of the region, including 187.9 thousand heads of cows. The number of pigs totaled 423.3 thousand individuals.
In the Vitebsk region, fodder is being actively harvested. According to the data of the regional agricultural production, grasses were cut by the second mowing on an area of 54.5 thousand hectares, which accounted for 55% of the total grassland area of the region. As of August 27, 564 thousand tons of feed units were harvested, or 49% of the completed plan. 14.1 centners of fodder units were harvested per conventional
HEAD of livestock.
The harvest has reached the finish line: grain and leguminous crops have been harvested from 302,000 hectares, which accounted for 97% of the area occupied by these crops. 774.1 thousand tons of grain and leguminous crops were harvested with an average yield of 25.5 q/ha.
Agrarians of the region also started harvesting corn for silage.
