Agricultural production in Belarus increased by 1.8% in January-August

September 15, MINSK. Agricultural production in Belarus grew by 1.8% in January-August, BelTA learned from the National Statistical Committee.

In January-August, in farms of all categories (agricultural organizations, peasant (farm) farms, households), agricultural production in current prices amounted to Br18.4 billion and increased compared to January-August 2021 in comparable prices by 1.8 %. Agricultural organizations produced products worth Br16.5 billion, or 3.2% more in comparable prices than in the corresponding period of the previous year.

Farms of all categories produced 1,147.7 thousand tons of livestock and poultry (in live weight), 5,305.4 thousand tons of MILK, and 2,327.8 million eggs. Agricultural organizations account for 97% of livestock and poultry production (in live weight), 97.4% of milk and 82.9% of egg production.

As of September 1, there were 4.1 million heads of cattle in agricultural organizations, including 1.4 million cows. The number of pigs amounted to 2.3 million heads.
