Industrial production in Vitebsk region grew by 7.5% in January

February 21, Vitebsk. In January of this year, the volume of industrial production in the Vitebsk region at current prices amounted to more than Br1.8 billion, BelTA learned from the main statistical department of the Vitebsk region.

In 2021, the volume of industrial production in the Vitebsk region at current prices amounted to over 20.6 billion, or in comparable prices 100.7% of the level of 2020.

In general, in January, the volume of industrial production increased by 7.5% compared to January last year. In certain types of economic activity, production indicators are higher. For example, in the mining industry, production increased by almost 19% compared to the same period last year, and in the field of electricity, gas, steam, hot water and air conditioning - by almost 18%. In the manufacturing industry, production growth amounted to 104.4% compared to January 2021, in the field of water supply, collection, processing and disposal of waste, activities for the elimination of pollution - 101.1%.

As for agricultural products, in the first month of the year, in farms of all categories (in agricultural organizations, peasant and farm enterprises, household farms), its production in current prices amounted to about Br132 million, or 97.8% in comparable prices compared to January 2021. "Agricultural organizations produced products worth more than Br128 million, or in comparable prices 98.1% compared to the corresponding period of the previous year. Farms of all categories of livestock and poultry produced 19.2 thousand tons in live weight, MILK - 58.1 thousand tons, 41.5 million eggs were received. Agricultural organizations account for 98.2% of the production volume in live weight of livestock and poultry, 95.6% of milk and 92.1% of egg production,” the regional state noted.

As of February 1, there were 526.5 thousand heads of cattle in the agricultural organizations of the region, including 187.9 thousand heads of cows. The number of pigs amounted to 389.4 thousand heads.
