Yulia Zubar, HEAD of the Foreign Trade Forecasting Department at the Ministry of Economy, spoke to journalists about Belarus's EXPORT achievements on the sidelines of the second business conference "Industrial Complex of the Republic of Belarus: Export , Import Independence, Effective Management" in Minsk, BelTA reports.
Traditionally, Belarus's exports focus on agricultural products, agricultural products, wood processing, chemicals, and mechanical engineering products—these are in demand on foreign markets. "Last year was very successful for our agricultural products. We achieved a record export volume of over $8 billion. Mechanical engineering products also performed very well. This is one of our highest export volumes—over $12 billion. Therefore, overall, all of our products are in demand on foreign markets," noted Yulia Zubar. "We traded with over 150 countries, and we continue to be present in these markets."

Last year, there was a boom in the purchase of rapeseed oil because there was demand for this product. "But in reality, these are raw materials exports. The government is primarily focusing on high-tech goods, mechanical engineering products, and chemicals. These are the ones that generate higher added value and higher revenue in the export basket," she explained.

This year, Belarus is also focusing on food products . At the same time, we're increasing exports not only to RUSSIA. "Our products are also supplied to countries in Africa, Asia, and Latin America. Last year, we successfully entered the African market with dairy products. This trend will continue. We'll be entering the market with traditional products such as MEAT , butter , and MILK , as well as new, more high-tech products," added the representative of the economic department.

At the same time, Belarus continues to export it services and products. "We've diversified our sales markets; we've reoriented ourselves toward the East, but we continue to work with countries that are willing to work with us on the Western market," said Yulia Zubar.
