Priorities of the "Great Court". The director of the farm spoke about the plans for the 2024 harvest

Topic news JSC "Velikiy Dvor" is a farm whose achievements do not allow competitors to sleep peacefully. In terms of weight gain, MILK yield, and field productivity, this enterprise is among the best in the region. What is the secret of the success of local farmers and what are the prospects for the 2024 harvest? This is what we learned after visiting the village of Novaya Veska, where this farm is located.
Harvest? No worse than last year!
“The year is going well,” noted Alexander Dudarevich, DIRECTOR of Velikiy Dvor OJSC, at the beginning of the conversation. “As the HEAD of state demanded, we gave preference to winter grains: due to spring droughts, spring grains do not have time to gain strength and often dry out. Winter crops almost never fail.
Farmers have just harvested winter barley, the yield of which was 64 c/ha.
“We expect better results for other grains,” notes Alexander Dmitrievich. - I think that the yield will be no worse than last year. Our farm lands are some of the best in the area, so we don’t lower the threshing bar.

By the way, even in the dry year of 2023, Velikiy Dvor OJSC received a record grain harvest - 74 c/ha, and rapeseed - 54 c/ha.
“The farm has never achieved such harvests before,” admitted chief agronomist Gennady Bezushko and explained why farmers are increasing the volumes grown every year: “We work in compliance with the technology of cultivation, care and harvesting of crops.”
Of the entire list of herbs, Velikiy Dvor OJSC relies on alfalfa. This type of legume produces at least four cuttings per year, is an excellent source of nutrients, because it contains protein, vitamins, minerals, and in terms of digestibility, alfalfa is comparable to concentrated feed.

According to the chief agronomist, the first mowing was higher than the subsequent ones and made it possible to prepare almost 8.9 thousand tons of haylage. The first cut was followed by the second. There will be a third and a fourth.

“For each head of cattle, more feed units of haylage and hay have already been prepared than last year,” says the interlocutor, noting that their farm has one of the highest livestock densities in the region, it is 170 heads per 100 hectares. - It is necessary to prepare at least 16 thousand tons of haylage, the same amount of silage and 7 thousand tons of grain, as well as about 1.1 thousand tons of rapeseed.
Now farmers are harvesting grain. They make sure that corn, rapeseed, and SUGAR beets grow and gain strength . Apparently, they should also ultimately please farmers with good results. On these fine days, every working day is a real battle for the harvest.

Hit the 10 thousand mark!OJSC "Velikiy Dvor" balances the development of two sectors: livestock farming and crop farming. The bulk of what grows in the fields becomes food for a large herd of cattle: the enterprise specializes in the sale of milk and beef.
- Of the 5,180 heads of cattle, about 910 are dairy cows. The rest of the herd consists of heifers of different ages and fattening bulls, which we purchase almost throughout the MINSK region,” says chief livestock specialist Larisa Desyatnik. - In 2023, an average of 9.6 thousand kg of milk was produced from each cow. In 2024 we plan to reach the 10 thousand mark!
And in beef production, the farm’s livestock breeders are great. The technological gain of a herd of 3.2 thousand bulls is 940 g/day. At the same time, Larisa Aleksandrovna does not particularly highlight the merits of the zootechnical service:
- All our specialists are working on such indicators. For example, balanced nutrition plays an important role in the growth of weight gain and milk yield , and this is the domain of the agronomic service. The silage, haylage and concentrates they prepare for livestock feed are of excellent quality. Also contributescare of the veterinary service.
In the interests of the state
Beef production is not the most attractive topic for many farms, but not for Velikiy Dvor OJSC. Here it’s a state thing.

- Beef production is the most important task for the country, so we are engaged in fattening, although the main profit for the company comes from milk! - notes the director of OJSC "Velikiy Dvor" Alexander Dudarevich. - In order to increase the returns from fattening bulls, we strive to reduce costs in the production of feed, purchase, use and maintenance of equipment. We motivate machine operators to more carefully monitor tractors, combines and other equipment and keep them in working order. Since the sanctions have made the purchase of spare parts more difficult, we are relying on the purchase of Belarusian combines, tractors, and cars. In addition, we began to prepare compound feed ourselves. For high-yielding cows and calves, feed is purchased at the farm.

The company cares about its technological development - it began to build the MTC with a loan from the milk processor to which it supplies it.
The publication's journalists visited the Great Yard MTF in the midst of the day's milking. It is led by machine milking operators Olga Chulkova and Daria Ganatulina. At the MTF we met the deputy foreman of the MTF, Natalya Chulkova, and her husband, livestock breeder Alexander Ivkin. Natalya recently moved to Belarus from Kazakhstan. Together with Alexander they are raising six children. They live in a house allocated to them by the company.
Motivated from the cradle
Today, about 140 people work at Velikiy Dvor OJSC.
“Each of them contributes to the overall success,” says Alina Usevich, deputy director for ideological work. - The main motivation for everyone’s productive work is a good salary. Based on the results of five months of 2024, the average for the household is 2,573 rubles. In 2023 it was 2,162 rubles.

Following the results of the 2024 harvest season, wages are expected to become even higher. There is plenty to pay for: the rate of production volumes for 5 months amounted to 105% of the same period in 2023.
The farm provides housing for visiting specialists: for single people - a room in a dormitory, for families - a house or apartment. On holidays and birthdays, everyone gets a gift here. Traditionally, this is a grocery basket with MEAT products, milk, juices, and jams. Large families - financial assistance by September 1. Gifts, as a rule, are presented by the director of the enterprise personally.
