Representatives of the meat and milk processing industries fully support the adoption of draft law No. 5425-d

Representatives of the meat and milk processing industries appealed to parliamentary groups and factions of the Verkhovna Rada regarding the elimination of the negative consequences of the impact of a one-time reduction in the VAT rate on meat and dairy raw materials. – PioneerProduct

The Union of Dairy Enterprises of Ukraine, the Association of "Meat Industry" and the Association of Ukrainian Producers "Ice Cream and Frozen Foods" appealed to the deputies with an open appeal, which analyzes the negative consequences for the meat and milk processing industries, which resulted from the initiative of a one-time reduction in VAT on supplies certain types of agricultural products, while the VAT rate on food supplies remained unchanged at 20%.

Representatives of associations that warned about the possible consequences of this innovation for their industries even at the stage of the development and adoption of Law No. 1115, openly cite examples of real losses that enterprises are now experiencing, as well as an ordinary consumer, for whom all this resulted in a rise in the price of products.

Throughout the entire period since the introduction of Law No. 1115, industry associations have communicated with the relevant committees, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and people's deputies, provided production data and calculations in order to prove the fallacy of the adopted initiative for those commodity items, transactions with which take place on the domestic market and therefore in there is no logic or economic sense in applying this law to them. But there is an obvious harm, which is indicated in the appeal.

The appeal is supported by a practical proposal. The Parliamentary Committee on Finance, Tax and Customs Policy has prepared a compromise draft law (5425-d), which has already been recommended for adoption in the first reading and as a whole.

Representatives of the meat and dairy industry fully support this legislative initiative.
