
February 26, Gomel / Corr. BELTA/. Enterprises of the Gomel region increased the EXPORT of agricultural products by 6% in 2020, Igor Aslyuk, chairman of the economy committee of the regional executive committee, told BelTA.
In 2020, enterprises of the region produced food and beverages worth Br3,132.8 million, an increase of 100.4% compared to 2019. This figure includes MEAT and offal (128.6 thousand tons), whole MILK products (200.6 thousand tons), cheese (49.7 thousand tons), sausages (19.7 thousand tons), butter (13.3 thousand tons), potatoes (65.8 thousand tons), vegetables (42.1 thousand tons), wheat and rye FLOUR (40.2 thousand tons), confectionery and chocolate (14.6 thousand tons).
The growth of production allows increasing the export of agricultural products and foodstuffs. At the same time, the committee emphasized, the emphasis is on maintaining food security in the region, providing the inhabitants of the region with everything necessary. So, in 2020, agricultural products were exported for $517.5 million, or 106% compared to 2019. The share of exports of agricultural products in the total volume of foreign trade in goods of the Gomel region for the year increased from 12% in 2019 to 13.6% in 2020.
"The increase in exports was facilitated by the growth in natural indicators of exports and export prices," said Igor Aslyuk. The value of exports of cheese and cottage cheese increased to $125.6 million (growth rate - 142.6%, an increase of $37.6 million), canned milk to $68.6 million (growth rate - 127.6%, an increase of $14.8 million) , powdered milk to $39.5 million (growth rate - 106.8%, an increase of $2.5 million).
The products were in demand in 48 countries, plus three new destinations by 2019. “The work on accreditation of Gomel enterprises for the right to export to the markets of new countries contributed to the increase in the countries importing Belarusian food. For example, 14 processing enterprises of our region are accredited for deliveries to CHINA. plant, as well as JV JSC "Spartak", - explained Igor Aslyuk.
The task for this year is to maintain positions in existing markets and increase supplies to new destinations.
The modernization of processing enterprises in the Gomel region also allows increasing turnover. "Thanks to the renewal of production facilities, they master new types of products, improve the quality of products, actively participate in the process of import substitution and ensure food security of the region and the country," the committee noted.
In 2021, the technical re-equipment of the processing enterprises of the region (OJSC "Milkavita", OJSC "Rogachevsky MKK", JV OJSC "Spartak", JLLC "Belsyr") will continue. In Buda-Koshelevskiy and Lelchitsy districts, it is planned to create new meat processing facilities.
As explained in the committee, the industry is operating normally, all emerging issues are resolved promptly. For example, during the week there was information about a possible disruption in the supply of products of Gomelkhlebprom OJSC.
The company assured that they feel responsible to the consumer. OJSC "Gomelkhlebprom" is the main producer of bread in the Gomel region. It includes 9 bakeries, including two on the territory of Gomel and seven - in regional centers. The assortment includes more than 200 types of bakery products and 350 types of confectionery.
The enterprise occupies more than a half of the regional market of bakery products and supplies the overwhelming majority of budgetary organizations of the region with its products. The average daily output of all bakeries, depending on the needs of the market, is from 70 to 90 tons of bakery products and from 4 to 6 tons of confectionery.
Products are also supplied to countries near and far abroad. Export for 2020 amounted to $471.6 thousand, there are serious trends for further growth.
As emphasized at the enterprise, quite tough competition has developed in the food products market - a huge number of manufacturers. In such conditions, they rely on competitive products, improvement of the technological process, miscalculation of each marketing step. And these issues are under constant control, they assured in the open joint-stock company.
