The government increased funding for the livestock breeding and processing support program - Ministry of Economy

On May 12, at a government meeting, a resolution was adopted that expands and improves state support for the development of animal husbandry and the processing of agricultural products.

In 2021, the program provides UAH 1.15 billion. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Economy.

“The development of animal husbandry, the increase in the number of cattle, including dairy cows, the increase in agricultural production and the increase in the profitability of farms is one of the priority tasks of the government. This year, the livestock support program has been supplemented with two more areas, the amount of budget subsidies and the percentage of reimbursement has been increased, and the circle of support recipients has been expanded,” commented Igor Petrashko, Minister of Economic Development, Trade and Agriculture of Ukraine.

So, two new directions have been added to the budget program - a subsidy for the maintenance of goats and sheep and a subsidy for the growth of cows.

Also, the percentage of reimbursement has been increased in the following areas:

from 50% to 80% - partial reimbursement of the cost of breeding animals, bees, genetic material; from 30% to 50%, and for agricultural cooperatives up to 70% - partial reimbursement of the cost of construction and / or reconstruction of livestock farms and complexes; from 30% to 50% - partial reimbursement of the cost of grain storage and processing facilities.

In general, state support will be provided in six areas:

special budget subsidy for existing bee colonies - UAH 240 million; partial reimbursement of the cost of breeding animals, bee packages, genetic material, etc. - UAH 350 million; partial reimbursement of the cost of construction and / or reconstruction of livestock farms and complexes, fish farms, milking parlors, enterprises for processing agricultural products - UAH 350 million; partial compensation for the cost of construction and reconstruction of livestock farms and complexes, milking parlors, enterprises for processing agricultural products through bank loans - UAH 60 million; special budget subsidy for keeping goats, goats, ewes, ewes – UAH 50 million; special budget subsidy for the increase in the number of cows of own reproduction - UAH 100 million.
