
March 29, MINSK. Vietnamese Ambassador to Belarus Nguyen Van Ngy sees the potential for doubling trade with Belarus. He told journalists about this after a meeting with President of Belarus ALEXANDER LUKASHENKO, BelTA has learned.
"We summed up some results of cooperation and discussed the prospects for expanding and strengthening our relations in new areas, primarily economic cooperation," the diplomat said.
He stressed that Belarus and Vietnam have great potential for developing cooperation. "It can be used to double the trade turnover. We will make further efforts to deepen and expand this cooperation," Nguyen Van Ngy said.As BelTA reported, Alexander Lukashenko said with a Vietnamese diplomat that cooperation between Belarus and Vietnam has always brought and will bring benefits to both countries: “We will always do everything to ensure that Vietnam develops. This is not only because we love the Vietnamese people. indeed, we treat your people with love. But this is also because from the point of view of the economy it is beneficial. This pragmatism is characteristic of both our people and the Vietnamese. This cooperation has always been and will be beneficial."
During the meetingIn 2021, the trade turnover between Belarus and Vietnam amounted to more than $200 million. Belarus exported potash fertilizers, livestock products, instrumentation products, medicines and cosmetics. Rubber, nuts, fish fillets, integrated circuits, propylene polymers, and canned foods were purchased in Vietnam.
Vietnam has an assembly plant for MAZ trucks. Deliveries of special tractors "Belarus" for work in rice fields, BELAZ mining equipment are being worked out. There are agreements between the countries on the construction of an enterprise for the production of MILK and dairy products.
