MINSK . Nicaragua places such trust in Belarus because
it still uses equipment produced in our country during Soviet times. This was stated by Belarusian Prime Minister
Roman Golovchenko following his official visit to Venezuela, Cuba, and Nicaragua , BELTA reports.
The Prime Minister quoted Laureano Facundo Ortega Murillo, Adviser to the President of Nicaragua on Investment, Trade, and International Cooperation, with whom he held talks: "Nicaragua remembers Soviet BELARUS tractors very well. They are still in use here, they are still being repaired, and farmers still use them. This is the best advertisement for modern Belarusian equipment." He called the results of the visit to Nicaragua a breakthrough, noting that much
work remains .
The Belarusian Prime Minister's official visit to Latin American countries concluded on July 20. Roman Golovchenko visited Venezuela, Cuba, and Nicaragua, where cooperation agreements were reached. In particular,
Belarus and
Venezuela outlined steps to restart joint projects in industry and other sectors. Agreements on the supply of tractors and powdered
MILK, as well as cooperation in the pharmaceutical sector, were reached with Cuba. In Nicaragua, contracts were signed for the supply of over 700 units of equipment worth a total of $85 million.
