About 1.5 thousand people were fed Polesie porridge at the Beresteysky Sleigh festival in Pinsk

January 20, Pinsk. In Pinsk, at the regional winter festival "Beresteysky Sleigh", the largest portion of Polesie porridge was prepared, BELTA reports.

A new tradition was started in Pinsk. From now on, the festival will have a book of records for the “Berestey Sleigh”. The first entry was made today. Pinsk residents on Lenin Square prepared the largest portion of Polesie porridge.

“We prepared the largest portion of porridge at this festival. This is millet porridge with MILK , prepared according to a traditional Polesie recipe. We have a 165-liter vat. it took 30 kg of cereal, 7 kg of butter and 57 liters of milk,” the chief technologist told the details JSC "Shkolnik" Ekaterina Olshanets. The choice settled on this particular dish, since it is a sweet porridge loved by many Poleshuks. It also required 3.6 kg of SUGAR to prepare it. The Chairman of the Brest Regional Executive Committee, Yuri Shuleiko, added a three-kilogram block of butter to the cauldron to enhance the taste. He was one of the first to taste the porridge. Many festival guests were satisfied with the result. About 1.5 thousand people were able to eat it. By the way, there is a 380-liter samovar nearby. This volume is enough to give tea to about 2 thousand people.
The third regional winter festival is taking place in Pinsk. The celebrations took place in the historical part of the city. Before this, the “Beresteysky Sleigh” was received by Brest and Baranovichi. In 2025, the holiday will be organized in Kobrin.
