August 2, Myadel district. President of Belarus ALEXANDER LUKASHENKO in a conversation with journalists explained why the country does not plan to EXPORT part of the grain harvest, BelTA has learned.

The HEAD of state stressed that it is important to obtain a product with a high added value at the expense of grain. For example, modern feed, what BNBK does. Or, which is also more profitable, use it for the needs of animal husbandry, get dairy and MEAT products.

"The main thing is the value added everywhere," the President said.

In addition, this is the creation of new jobs in processing, salaries of people and the social sphere.

“Some states sell a lot of wheat, rye, corn, and then buy MILK , meat,” the President noted. “We get grain and something goes for consumption, malting barley, bread baking, confectionery, and also for feed animals."

Alexander Lukashenko considers it important to increase the number of animals to get more meat and milk. "This is a very important area of our work. So far, I do not see that we could sell grain," the Belarusian leader said.

He touched upon the topic of buckwheat: “Although the minister said that we have sown buckwheat, we need 25-27 thousand tons for the population, and we will have 30-32 thousand,” Alexander Lukashenko noted. "We can sell something, but it's a trifle, it's not a lot of money, and I don't guide our farmers to this. We have to feed our people, provide for our neighbors, people from Lithuania, Latvia, Poland come, they want to buy, let them buy."

"The main thing for us is to see that normal people live next to them, that they are ready to help in difficult times. This is important," the head of state said.

He stressed: “We are not planning to sell grain, tomorrow it should “produce” milk, meat. Our main and important thing is the production base.

The President is convinced that it is necessary to create new enterprises, a base for them. “And to develop those lands that we could develop yesterday, there are a lot of them, abandoned, but these abandoned lands should not exist. In general, we will connect land reclamation, but this is a separate conversation,” the head of state continued.

The conversation turned to the President's earlier trip, where an exemplary dairy complex was shown, on the model of which similar facilities should be built in the country. "They (Minskoblagroservice. - Note by BelTA) will build such a dairy complex for this farm. We must look to the future so that people work with pleasure. My mother worked on a farm and I can compare - this is the future. Not space, ordinary future enterprise.

The journalists asked what disadvantages Alyaksandr Lukashenka would name. "There is only one minus - we would have more money. If we had more money, in agriculture we spent money primarily on land reclamation. We need to restore what we have been exploiting for decades, canals, drainage," the head of state stressed. He also said that he would direct the money to backward farms and the development of farming.
