September 15, Mogilev. This fall, the first crop of vegetables will be harvested at the OAO "Alexandriyskoe" in the Shklovsky District. Elena Gvozdeva, a leading specialist in the ideological work of an agricultural enterprise, told a BelTA correspondent about this.
The decision to grow vegetables was made by the management of the farm last year. it is connected with the phased uprooting of the old APPLE orchard, which at one time was located on 250 hectares. So, agricultural areas began to be released, which had to be used for new crops. The start was made last season: farmers planted 20 hectares of cabbage. This spring, 10 hectares of onions, 10 hectares of beets, 9 hectares of carrots, 31 hectares of cabbage and 30 hectares of potatoes have already been planted. If a decent harvest is collected, then the experience of growing vegetables will be continued, especially since the area under crops will only expand.According to Elena Gvozdeva, the work on uprooting a garden with a low grade is complex and voluminous: in order to bring the land into proper condition for cultivation for other crops, the farm worked throughout the year. The vegetables of the new harvest will be stored in the fruit storage facility, whose production capacity is 6.5 thousand tons. It is planned to load 22 out of 30 storage chambers with them.
Mass picking of vegetables in "Alexandriysky" will begin in the twentieth of September. They will be removed from the fields both on their own and with the involvement of additional labor resources, mainly local schoolchildren. Students of Alexandria, Staroselskaya and Ulanovskaya schools plan to work on the territory of the farm in shifts - approximately 30 people a day. Previously, children were traditionally involved in harvesting apples, their help was very important and significant for farmers. In summer, children were involved in specific weeding of grain crops and grain drying complexes.
Elena Gvozdeva stressed that the work of young assistants will be paid without fail. For example, students earn more than Br100 for 10 days of work on the farm - a good help, especially since they are employed part-time (only 4 hours). This time, schoolchildren will be involved in harvesting for a maximum of 1-1.5 weeks, so as not to be distracted from the educational process. The educational institutions themselves will also receive a bonus: the agricultural enterprise annually provides them with vegetables to reduce the cost of school meals (except for the Staroselskaya school). They are supplied with potatoes, onions, beets, carrots, apples, pickles and sauerkraut - everything that is necessary for the diet. For example, the demand of the Alexandria school for the academic year is approximately 5.8 tons of potatoes and 1.5 tons of onions.
According to Elena Gvozdeva, such interaction between the economy and educational institutions is traditional and has always been. “We all live in rural areas, and we cannot do without the help of children for the same types of weeding of grain crops. We have attracted them before and in the future we will also cooperate. This is good both for children who receive extra money and for the farm, for which this is a reserve fund for quick labor assistance," she stressed.
JSC "Alexandriyskoye" is a diversified agricultural complex specializing in the production of pork, beef, poultry, MILK, fodder, growing grain, rapeseed, corn, and horticultural products. The economy is actively introducing technologies aimed at intensifying production.
