Photo by the Ministry of Agriculture November 26, Vitebsk . What will be the structure of sown areas, the fate of agro-industrial associations and what will be the focus in the agro-industrial complex of the Vitebsk region in the future, told journalistsMinister of Agriculture and Food Anatoly Linevich at a joint meeting of the Ministry and the State Control Committee in Vitebsk, BelTA has learned.

"According to the instructions of the head of state, it is necessary to consider issues of the region's agro-industrial complex. This is done at the level of the boards of the State Control Committee and the Ministry of Agriculture and Food. Today we are considering issues of production, the results of the year. We see that last year the region collected a good harvest," said Anatoly Linevich.

Speaking about the grain harvest in the Vitebsk region, the head of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food noted that there is a small shortfall in this year's harvest. "We did not collect a certain amount of grain, but the conditions of the year did not allow us to do this. Next year, I hope, we will fulfill the instructions of the head of state," he emphasized.

As for the further development of the agro-industrial complex of the northern region, here, as the President announced during the regional holiday of rural workers in Polotsk, the emphasis should be placed on the processing and production of meat and dairy products. "The most important area is livestock farming. To create a forage field, to provide for the products of cultivation, milk production - this is the main task," the minister said.

Despite the fact that the Vitebsk region is a risky farming zone, mainly due to weather factors, there are no plans to radically change the structure of sown areas in the region. "With the help of scientists, new varieties of crops have been developed, we will try them in the conditions of the Vitebsk region, the same soybeans. Otherwise, the structure of sown areas has already been determined. We need to add alfalfa crops, have it 10% of arable land. In other crops, everything will remain practically at the level of last year. The most important thing is to prepare forage every year. If this works, then there will be milk production," shared Anatoly Linevich.

At a joint meeting, the heads of key sectors of the economy discussed the implementation of Presidential Decree No. 70 "On the development of the agro-industrial complex of the Vitebsk region." Regarding the efficiency of the agro-industrial associations created in the region, the head of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food noted that their structure has been built, and it is necessary to wait for the results. "They will still show their efficiency, and it will be. The situation is stabilizing now. A turning point has occurred, we have pushed off from zero, and the agro-industrial associations will add. The management structure has been developed, all issues have been considered," said Anatoly Linevich. The meeting analyzed the results of the agricultural season in crop production, the pace of melioration, the work of the region's processing organizations, the production of compound feed and flour products. Financial results and export

of products, technical equipment of agricultural enterprises were not ignored . Thus, revenueorganizations of the agro-industrial complex of the Vitebsk region increased by 13.5% over nine months compared to January - September 2023. There is also a positive trend in the export of food products and agricultural raw materials of organizations of the Vitebsk region - the increase was 28.9% compared to the level of January - September last year. The geography of deliveries includes 57 countries. Also, beef , poultry , butter , cheeses andcottage cheese , sausages.

At the same time, there are also issues that require immediate solutions and control. The participants in the meeting gave an appropriate assessment of the work done at all management levels. Collegial decisions with specific response measures and the adoption of program decisions have been developed for acute situations. This concerns, for example, strict technological discipline in the production of agricultural products, the efficiency of processing enterprises, increasing the sale of meat and dairy products, and working with personnel for the agro-industrial complex. Effective measures are also necessary for the timely commissioning of dairy complexes under construction and reconstruction, technical equipment and staffing them with highly productive cattle to obtain high milk yields.
