December 1, Zhlobin. An updated dairy complex for 1.5 thousand heads, including young animals, was opened in Agro-Korotkovichi in the Zhlobin district after a large-scale reconstruction, BELTA correspondent reports.
First Deputy Chairman of the Gomel Regional Executive Committee Dmitry Petrozhitsky emphasized that this is the fourth complex in the agro-industrial complex out of ten, which will be introduced by the end of this year on behalf of the HEAD of state. “When forming this program, many issues were taken into account, the main one being the functionality of the complexes. Attention was paid to the technology of feeding, keeping livestock, milking, etc. Equally important is the creation of comfortable conditions for agricultural workers,” he said.The investment project included a large-scale reconstruction of existing areas, as well as the construction of new facilities. Today, taking into account modernization, six facilities have been commissioned in this farm. Three new premises for keeping cattle for 750 heads, a new milking block with modern equipment were built. In total, the MTF will house about 1.5 thousand heads of cattle, including young animals.
Dmitry Petrozhitsky emphasized that the production of livestock products, MEAT and MILK is one of the strategic directions not only of the Gomel region, but of the entire country. “Of the total production volume, only about 40% is consumed in the domestic market, the rest is for EXPORT . This is an important area that also allows us to ensure the well-being of farmers,” he said.

May this complex bring good results and more revenue from the very opening,” he emphasized, wishing the workers HEALTH, prosperity and peace.
Chairman of the Zhlobin District Executive Committee Sergei Yarets also noted that Agro-Korotkovichi has become one of the largest construction projects in the agro-industrial complex of the region. In general, a lot of work remains to be done in the region to transfer livestock to free-stall housing. And “Agro-Korotkovichi” was one of the first in this direction. “And this is the result of the work of both builders and farm workers. Construction of three modern facilities is planned for next year. We expect a good return on investment and the production of high-quality products,” Sergei Yarets shared his plans.

The company also specializes in meat and dairy production and has a grain farm. For January-October, the growth rate of gross agricultural output in comparable prices amounted to 102.7%.
