No less important on the agricultural agenda is forage harvesting. The green harvest is in full swing - now is the second harvest. "There are over 800 heads of cattle on the farm . And this year we will also have feed. Now we milk about 30 liters per cow. I think we will keep this figure in the future. In total, we plan to harvest 4.5 thousand tons of haylage and 5.5 thousand tons of silage. There will also be corn silage," Vyacheslav Babich noted.

Stanislav Gutsenkov, the leading livestock specialist of the Klimovka department, spoke about the technology of harvesting a full-fledged, high-quality nutritious feed for livestock of cattle. This season, the company is making stocks using the new technology. “To prepare forage in a trench, we use the technology of an oxygen barrier film. That is, we cover the side walls of the trench with a film, then we tamp and at the very end, before closing the trench, we lay two more layers of film, the so-called envelope, and cover it with bags of crushed stone on top. allows you to get high-quality feed that accompanies good milk yields. In addition, we use a good biological preservative, which allows you to properly preserve the feed. And its nutritional value increases as a result," he explained.

There is a saying among the people: milk is on the tongue of a cow. There is some truth in this. "The milk yield of a cow depends on genetics - there is a genetic predisposition to high productivity. Of course, there is a second factor - the quality of the feed. If there is enough energy in them, then the milk yield will be on top," the leading livestock specialist explained.

The company assures that there is always enough feed stock. “Now we feed rolls prepared back in 2021. Everything is stored like canned food and for a long time. But if the tightness is broken in the “canned food” and a hole appears, then it is no longer suitable for food. We have created a strong stock, we help other farms " - added Vyacheslav Babich.

Another farm on the route is OAO "Znamya Rodiny", where there are more than 8.6 thousand hectares of farmland. Harvesting of winter barley was completed here, 727 tons were harvested from 190 hectares with a yield of 38.3 centners per hectare. A third of winter rapeseed has also been harvested, and fodder is being harvested in the process.
