December 8, MINSK . Last year, Belarus entered the top 5 leaders in MILK production per capita. First Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food of Belarus Sergei Fedchenko spoke about this during the II International Forum “Agrarian Belarus. Reproduction,” BELTA correspondent reports.
“Dairy farming in Belarus is one of the most effective branches of agriculture. Belarus is rightfully called one of the most dairy countries in the world. Last year, our country entered the top 5 leaders in milk production per capita. Thus, we produce 853 kg milk with consumption of just over 230 kg,” said Sergei Fedchenko.
According to him, in recent years, abnormal weather conditions have led to the fact that livestock farming has suffered due to a shortage of concentrated and grass feed.
“Despite this, thanks to the professionalism of specialists, as well as strict adherence to technological regulations, last year Belarus achieved a record high in milk herd productivity and gross milk production. Over the past year, 7.6 million tons of milk were produced in Belarus. 1.7 received million tons of MEAT in live weight,” emphasized the First Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food.
The format of the forum "Agricultural Belarus. Reproduction" provides for work in specialized sections: cattle , pig farming and poultry farming.
At the forum, attention will be paid to the topics of selection, conservation and improvement of the gene pool, as well as modern reproduction technologies, optimal conditions for keeping and feeding, and raising young animals. In addition, experts will talk about the prevention and treatment of diseases, innovative solutions for beef cattle breeding, increasing productivity and profitability, prospects for the development of the industry and import substitution.
