June 5, Brest. Russian buyers value Belarusian goods for their quality and affordable price. This opinion was expressed today by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of RUSSIA to Belarus Yevgeny Lukyanov at a meeting with Chairman of the Brest Regional Executive Committee Yury Shuleiko, BelTA has learned.
The Russian diplomat is in the Brest region on a multi-day visit. “It was not by chance that the choice fell on the region. If there is one on the license plates of cars, then you need to go there in the first place,” Evgeny Lukyanov joked.
Yuri Shuleiko noted that the Brest region maintains close relations with its partners from Russia, there are many enterprises with Russian capital operating in the region.
“There has been no fall. These months show good growth. Of course, the pandemic affects some moments. We are waiting for the borders to open for mass movement,” said the chairman of the Brest Regional Executive Committee. “Objectively, the Brest region is special as a food supplier. We have a powerful production cluster and processing of MILK and MEAT. We are proud of the quality of our products."Evgeny Lukyanov agreed with Yuri Shuleiko. “For example, Brest cheese is on my table every morning. When I see products made in Belarus, I already know that this is the price and quality that suits me. Belarusian producers, in my opinion, could not spend money on advertising in Russia, but lower the cost of production. This is the best advertisement," the Russian ambassador said.
During the meeting, the topics of logistics, transport communication, tourism, interaction in other areas were touched upon. Separately, we talked about the Brest Fortress. The memorial complex was reconstructed in 2018-2020 under the program of the Union State. The project is expected to continue in 2022.
