April 16,
MINSK . President of Belarus
ALEXANDER LUKASHENKO warned the leaders of the three regions where the problems in agriculture are most acute about the strict demand for results at the end of this year. The
HEAD of state stated this at a meeting on rural development and increasing the efficiency of the agricultural sector, BELTA correspondent reports.
The head of state addressed the leaders of the Vitebsk, Mogilev and Gomel regions Alexander Subbotin, Anatoly Isachenko and Ivan Krupko: “I will tell you this, Alexander Mikhailovich, you, Isachenko, the former Minister of Agriculture Krupko: there will be no result this year - expect the most severe repressions. I’m telling you openly. I have no other choice.”
At the meeting, Alexander Lukashenko stated regarding the Vitebsk region that the desired return from the creation of agro-industrial associations in this region has not yet been received: “You, the whole region, convinced me three times that this is our path. The normal path: here is a
MEAT or
MILK processor, and there is your zone - go, invest, work together. What’s wrong? Well,
it didn’t work.”
“Do you want to say that the proposal of that regional executive committee was unsuitable? Therefore, why talk about it now - we will ask directly for
money for equipment, for something else... - the Belarusian leader noted regarding the proposals made by the head of the Vitebsk region. - I will answer your question using the example of energy-intensive equipment. If within a week the state control reports to me that your energy-intensive tractors are standing under the fence or are working to the point of wear and tear, not only will you not receive a single tractor... I will also tell you openly, no matter how unpopular (it may sound). . - BELTA's note): you will all sit down."
The head of state drew attention to the fact that cases of fuel theft are still being revealed, for support in the purchase of which regional leaders regularly ask: “Recently in the Orsha region, several hundred liters of diesel fuel were found in the garage of a machine operator. It’s good that at one time I ordered that diesel fuel be marked flower. Looked where he took it - he stole it."
As for energy-intensive equipment, the President emphasized that it is very expensive, and therefore its maintenance and operation must be at a high level. “We need to maintain the equipment, like an airplane,” he said figuratively.
Alexander Lukashenko also drew attention to issues of basic executive discipline, including ensuring the safety of livestock. “When coordinating the appointment of chairmen of district executive committees, I always say: “Guys, we need results! If you don’t want to fight, you need results on the ground!”
