June 14, Volkovysk. Belarusian President ALEXANDER LUKASHENKO is making a working visit to the Grodno Region. In Volkovysk, the HEAD of state is visiting OJSC Bellakt, a BELTA correspondent reports.
The head of state was briefed on the socio-economic development of the Grodno Region and the work of OJSC Bellakt. The President is getting acquainted with the enterprise's production facilities.
The head of state is also presented with products from MILK processing enterprises in the Grodno Region. These include OJSC Bellakt, OJSC Lida Milk and Canning Plant, and OJSC Molochny Mir . Alexander Lukashenko recently spoke about the work of OJSC Bellakt in relation to the task of expanding domestic food supplies to distant countries, in particular to Africa. For example, there is currently a surplus of butter, and there are difficulties with its promotion on foreign markets. "But butter is made from milk. " Well, let's do what they do in Volkovysk (at the Bellakt plant – BELTA), we'll process it into powdered milk . It's a good price. We'll take it to Africa. We'll make baby food ," the Belarusian leader proposed.

The company is export-oriented and is actively expanding its presence in foreign markets, including the CIS countries. Bellakt OJSC is the only manufacturer of dry milk formulas for baby food in Belarus. The company has a history of more than half a century, beginning with the opening of the Volkovysk Milk and Canned Baby Food Plant in 1970.
