Lukashenko appointed new ambassadors to distant countries

June 30, MINSK . Belarusian President ALEXANDER LUKASHENKO has appointed new leaders of Belarusian diplomatic missions in several countries, BelTA reports. Yevgeny Sobolevsky has been appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Egypt and, concurrently, to Algeria and Oman, as well as Permanent Representative of Belarus to the League of Arab States.

Dmitry Krasovsky will HEAD the Belarusian diplomatic mission in Kenya. He has also been appointed Permanent Representative of Belarus to the African Union, the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), and the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat). Dmitry Derevinsky has been appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Venezuela. Igor Bely, Belarus' Ambassador to the UAE and concurrently to Kuwait, has also been appointed concurrently as Ambassador to Bahrain. The head of state noted that all the appointed diplomats are experienced individuals with many years of experience in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. "The countries you're heading to are diverse, but very important to us," Alexander Lukashenko emphasized. "The only thing I want to say is that you won't be there too long. Keep in mind, because trade and bilateral trade are also your concern. It's not like before—white cuffs, a white collar, going to a reception, listening to something, writing something here and there. Your first task is bilateral trade. We need to move forward." Alexander Lukashenko said it's essential to actively develop and expand new markets in Asia, Africa, and Latin America. Recent visits to Belarus by the President of Cuba and the adviser to the co-presidents of Nicaragua on investment, trade, and international cooperation

also demonstrate interest in Belarus . "Therefore, everything depends on our policies. I wish you success. Take action. Don't wait for someone to come and tell you or show you. If there's something useful, suggest it, and we'll act and help you. But remember: trade comes first," the Belarusian leader said.  Alexander Lukashenko noted that Belarus has established relations with Kenya, but so far, "there's not much progress." "I have a good relationship with the President of Kenya. I think he'll visit us again," the head of state said. The president emphasized that Kenya is a vast country with a population of over 50 million people, and therefore Belarusian food products will be in demand there . This isn't just about supplying powdered MILK or canned MEAT; Belarus is ready to help this African country develop its entire agricultural sector. "We need to help them organize their work there. And that work primarily involves agricultural machinery. And personnel—we need to teach people how to work, help them. Perhaps we can organize a typical farm," Alexander Lukashenko said.

Our country is already pursuing this path in developing cooperation with other African countries. For example, the President mentioned that Nigeria recently purchased around 2,000 tractors from Belarus: "These are good volumes. But keep in mind, they bought 2,000—they'll buy more tomorrow if you prove yourself. And then there's the maintenance. That includes spare parts and so on." "

And they say we have a problem, that we can't do something. We can do anything! So we need to expand into new markets. We have what it takes. So we need to work on this," the Belarusian leader emphasized. "Take Egypt , for example . This is necessary there too. Although it's a different country, completely different. It's the gateway to Africa, it's a respected country for the Arab world. A very respected one." "Or Venezuela . We wanted to do a lot there, but some things worked out, others didn't. But we need to develop, we need to do something," Alexander Lukashenko added.
