The competition of young developers for the 19th time will be held in PolesGU

June 2, Brest. The Pinsk Invest Weekend 19, a contest of innovative projects for young developers, will be held at Polesie State University today, Anna Khomich, head of the Business Center laboratory at Polesie State University, told a BelTA correspondent.

The competition was preceded by a preliminary selection of youth business ideas. In total, 19 innovative projects were presented at the reviews. The expert commission selected 11 most promising developments of social and economic significance. Developments relate to education, information technology, healthy lifestyles, nutrition and other areas.

For the first time, two Pinsk colleges will take part in the competition. Thus, the Agricultural Technology College will present a project for the production of soft cheese "Panir" from goat's milk, the technology of which uses lemon juice or yogurt . Students of the College of Engineering and Technology will present two projects to the jury - a web application in the form of a quest game around the city of Pinsk using an interactive map and a software application designed for non-contact computer control using voice recognition technology.

The team of the Rostov State University of Economics will act as a foreign participant. Russian students will present a software and hardware complex for processing fields using an unmanned aerial vehicle with an artificial intelligence system. The hosts of the event will offer for consideration projects on growing tobacco and amaranth, using secondary raw materials from breweries, using lavender by the owners of farmsteads and spa salons, as well as a number of IT developments.

The event is held within the start-up school of PolesGU in accordance with the plan approved by the Brest Regional Executive Committee. Youth ideas will be evaluated by a panel of judges, which will include representatives of government authorities, university administration, heads of banks, the National Investment and Privatization Agency, successful entrepreneurs, and foreign experts.

In addition, on June 1, the Polessky Senior 2023 hackathon started at Polesye State University. The first competition of IT projects was organized jointly with the Brest Science and Technology Park and the IT campus of the Polesie region, 9 teams participate in it. The winners of the hackathon will be announced during the announcement of the results of the competition for young developers.
