MINSK . Companies from 23 countries buy Belarusian goods at the Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange, BUTB press secretary Roman Yaniv told a BELTA correspondent.
According to the Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange, this year, Belarusian-made products are purchased at exchange auctions by residents of 23 countries. The top five largest sales markets include
RUSSIA ,
CHINA ,
Azerbaijan ,
Uzbekistan and
Kazakhstan , together providing about 90% of
EXPORT sales.
Currently, agricultural and wood
products are in greatest demand among BUCE's foreign clients. In particular, butter , skimmed
MILK powder and
cheeses are actively supplied to Russia ; China, Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan mainly import lumber, and Kazakhstan is the leader in purchases of Belarusian
SUGAR. Rapeseed oil, beet pulp and molasses are traditionally in demand on the European market. The main buyers of these goods are companies from the Baltic countries and Switzerland.
In January - February
2024 , foreign participants in exchange trading concluded more than 1.5 thousand transactions for the purchase of Belarusian goods for a total amount of $170 million. During the same period last year, the number of transactions was 155, and their amount was $14 million.
"Indicators of exchange exports depend on a number of factors, but are generally particularly influenced by the increase in the number of non-resident buyers, the opening of new markets and the introduction of additional product lines.The high growth rates achieved in January-February are the result of the work done last year. First of all, this is the attraction of small and medium-sized businesses from the regions of Russia to trading, the opening of a representative office of the exchange in Shanghai, the expansion of the network of exchange brokers in the countries of Central Asia, the introduction of a mechanism for exchange targeted transactions and the intensification of cooperation with Belarusian diplomatic missions abroad. Thanks to these events, not only to significantly increase exchange trade turnover in key markets such as Russia, China and Azerbaijan, but also to establish supplies of Belarusian products to the Republic of
Korea , Mongolia and Hungary,” the BUCE press service said.
As of March 1, 2024, 3,703 companies from Russia, 167 from
China , 116 from Kazakhstan, 108 from Uzbekistan and 100 from Azerbaijan were accredited to BUCE.
