Expert tells what Belarus's position is in dairy exports

14 November, MINSK . If we do not take into account trade between the EU countries, Belarus ranks fourth in the world trade in cheese exports, and third in butter supplies. This was stated by Maria Klimova, Deputy HEAD of the Main Department of Processing Industry of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food, at a press conference dedicated to Belarus's food security and the effectiveness of state support for agricultural enterprises, BELTA reports.

According to the specialist, Belarusian cheeses are in high demand, especially in the CIS countries. If we do not take into account mutual supplies between the EU countries , Belarus ranks fourth in world trade in cheese exports, which indicates how much our cheeses are in demand abroad, and how highly their quality and taste are appreciated abroad.

Belarus also ranks third among world exporters in the supply of butter, whey powder, and fifth in the EXPORT of skim MILK powder.

"All these indicators confirm the high quality of our products, because goods do not leave the country simply under contracts. Before exports are established , enterprises will be strictly inspected, the necessary tests will be taken, research will be conducted , only after that the producers will be accredited and allowed to enter foreign markets," explained the deputy head of the main department of the processing industry.

In 2024 , as Maria Klimova noted, such a difficult market, which places high quality parameters on products, as Algeria, was mastered. Belarus will export dry milk to this African state .
