November 28,Vitebsk . Vitebsk Broiler Poultry Farm OJSC has opened a new import-substituting production facility in the Vitebsk District, the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee told BelTA.
Vitebsk Broiler Poultry Farm OJSC has completed a project to reconstruct its feed mill. Construction began in February 2024 and was completed in September 2025. The facility was completed five months ahead of schedule. Its estimated cost was 106 million Belarusian rubles. The actual construction cost (excluding interest on loans) was 96.2 million Belarusian rubles. The feed mill employs 191 people, and 57 new jobs have been created as a result of the project. Olga Basko, Deputy General DIRECTOR for Feed Production at the company, reported that the project was made possible thanks to active government support. "We joined the 2021-2025 Agribusiness Program and implemented the project. Thanks to it, we now fully meet our company's poultry and cattle feed needs . We now have Feed Plant No. 2, which will produce feed for parent stock and finishing stock, a soybean processing plant, and a grain extrusion plant, which will allow us to reduce imports by more than 90%. We have also increased the storage capacity of our elevator facility. We can now simultaneously store over 130,000 tons of grain," said Olga Basko. The feed mill's production capacity is planned to increase from 154,000 tons to 225,000 tons of finished products per year. Igor Sergeyenko, Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus, and Alexander Subbotin, Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, attended the opening ceremony. "You've long since moved beyond the factory; you're now a multi-faceted agro-industrial company, combining both production and processing. You're a leading enterprise in our country, not just in the Vitebsk region. Five years ago, I visited your facility and saw the numerous construction projects completed in 2022. New facilities were opened and are operating successfully, including a slaughterhouse and a new poultry production facility. Today, you have a foundation for the future. There are several new facilities, four construction sites. I'm simply amazed at where you get your strength from; you're simply brilliant," said Igor Sergeenko. He also visited agricultural enterprises in the Liozno and Vitebsk districts, learned about the operations of the Orekhovsky Flax Mill, and the modernization of the production facility as part of the investment project "Creation of an Enterprise for the Production of Powdered MILK Candies in the Republic of Belarus," which is being implemented by SOAO Kommunarka.
