Export of canned milk is declining

The situation of Ukrainian dairy plants is still very difficult. Sugar has only now begun to fall in price, and raw milk has always remained expensive. – PioneerProduct

Manufacturers focused on domestic sales are still somehow making ends meet, they were able to increase prices. But exporters have a hard time, often their prices (at cost) are much higher than those of competitors from Belarus and Russia. We have to lose sales markets, where it will be difficult to return later.

Exports are falling accordingly. Last month, less than 2 thousand tons of canned food were exported, which is a quarter less than in July 2020. Export will be modest in August as well. We can count on a revival of sales only by mid-autumn, when sugar becomes cheaper.

Now the largest share of exports of canned milk falls on Uzbekistan (19%), Azerbaijan (10%) and Georgia (10%).
