December 1, Algeria. Belarusian dairy products are competitive in the Algerian market. Alexander Gerasimenko, General
Director of the Slutsk
Cheese Factory, shared this opinion in an interview with journalists on the sidelines of a business forum in Algiers, BELTA reports.
The Algerian market is very promising and one of the largest purchasers of dairy products in the Middle East and North Africa. "We began working with them in
2024 and will continue this work in
2025. We already have stable partners with whom we are working. We are already making big plans for 2026," the company's
director said. "There is demand for our goods, our Belarusian products are already known. They are high quality, reasonably priced, and we are competitive here."
According to Alexander Gerasimenko, the Algerian market is primarily interested in supplies of skim
milk powder and whole milk powder.
"The market here is about half a million tons of product per year (the total volume of dairy imports – BELTA note). That's a very large market. Accordingly, it's of interest to us. And of course, there's interest from the Algerian side. Our trip confirms this, because literally every day there are meetings, negotiations, and new contacts," the plant's general director noted.
