Gomel enterprises produced import-substituting products worth $4.2 billion since 2020

21 February, Mozyr. Since 2020, Gomel Region has produced $4.2 billion worth of import-substituting products. This data was announced by Chairman of the Gomel Regional Executive Committee Ivan Krupko at the regional festive concert and reception "Together We Are Belarus" dedicated to the Day of Defenders of the Fatherland and the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus , a BELTA correspondent reports.

The HEAD of the region noted that the region's residents have many reasons to be proud. He cited several figures as examples.


"Since 2020, the Gomel region has produced import-substituting products worth $4.2 billion, which is almost twice as much as in the previous five-year period. Over the past five years, almost Br23 billion has been invested in fixed capital in the region's economy. During this period, 169 investment projects were implemented, including 51 within the framework of the presidential program "One District - One Project," Ivan Krupko listed.

"Thanks to the tireless work of Gomel farmers, 650 kg of grain are put into the bins for each of us every year, about 100 kg of MEAT, 330 eggs, 670 liters of MILK, 405 kg of potatoes are produced," the head of the region continued.

According to him, for some items, production is several times higher than consumption.

"All of the above is a consequence of economic patriotism and a worthy response to the economic sanctions of the collective West," the chairman of the regional executive committee added.   

Holiday in the sports and HEALTH center "Polesie Arena" in Mozyr united more than 1.5 thousand people - representatives of the regions. The bright chord of the event were musical numbers from artists and creative groups.
