January 20, Molodechno. The contribution of the MINSK region to the most important areas of the Belarusian economy exceeds 20% of the republican volume. Prime Minister of Belarus Roman Golovchenko said this at a solemn meeting in Molodechno dedicated to the 85th anniversary of the founding of the Minsk region, BelTA has learned.

"The Minsk region not only occupies a central place, but is also the undisputed leader in many key areas. Agriculture, industry, mining are the most important areas of the country's economy, the contribution of the region to which exceeds a fifth of the republican volume. And it is worth a lot," - said Roman Golovchenko.

The Prime Minister of Belarus noted that the history of the Minsk region is inextricably linked with the history of the whole country. "This is a heroic story, scorched by the fires of Khatyn and hundreds of Belarusian villages burned during the Great Patriotic War. This is a story of victories and accomplishments, when the unconquered Belarusian people unitedly revived the country from ruins and hell. They built new industries, explored the rich bowels of the land of Belarus. This is the story of thousands and thousands of ordinary workers who every day, tirelessly, bit by bit, created the wealth of the Belarusian people, wishing that the next generations would live in peace and prosperity," he stressed.

Roman Golovchenko is convinced that the Minsk region celebrated its 85th anniversary with worthy results. "Agriculture, industry, processing are showing steady growth. Record threshing, historical MILK yields, active development of the road transport network, improvement and creation of modern urban infrastructure, accelerated construction of social facilities - this is only a small fraction of the results of the region's work in recent years. Behind it - the painstaking work of everyone: workers and managers, builders and engineers, rural workers. I am sure that diligence, sincere love for the native land, skillful efficient management will allow the Minsk region to continue to occupy a leading position, as well as reach new heights," concluded Roman Golovchenko .
