August 10, MINSK. Inflation in the Czech Republic reached 17.5% in July in annual terms, which was the highest figure in almost 30 years, according to the Novinky.cz news portal, citing data from the Czech Statistical Office (CSU).
The last time inflation in the country was at such a high level was in 1993.In June this year, this figure was 17.2%.
The prices for energy resources and foodstuffs are rising the most in the country. For example, during the year FLOUR rose in price by 64%, oils - by 53.4%, MILK - by 40.2%, bread - by 29.9%, MEAT - by 21.7%.
In the energy sector, prices for natural gas rose by 59.8% year on year, for solid fuels - by 41.1%, for electricity - by 33.6%.
Analysts predict that the peak of inflation is still ahead, and in August it will be close to 20% due to the continuing rise in electricity and gas prices for the population.
