Antibodies for COVID-19 need to be measured only by participants in clinical trials when this measurement is necessary for analysis, Denis Protsenko, head physician of hospital No. 40, told RBC. According to him, a fashion has developed in Russia to “measure antibodies” after vaccination against the coronavirus.

“The [vaccination] calendar has a seasonal flu vaccination, and we don’t think: “So, I had snot in May, I coughed, I apparently had the flu. In September, according to the calendar, I need to be vaccinated. Why don't I test my antibodies for the flu?" There is no such story with the flu, but with the coronavirus, everything is exactly the opposite, ”says Protsenko.

He urged to be guided by the principle: "six months after the disease - vaccination, six months after vaccination - revaccination."
