MINSK . A Korean delegation will conduct an inspection mission to leading Belarusian dairy processing plants supplying their products to the Republic of
Korea . Details were discussed at an official meeting between representatives of the Department of Veterinary and Food Supervision of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food and a delegation from the Food and Drug Safety Agency of the Republic of Korea (MFDS), the agricultural department told BelTA.
The parties discussed plans for the Korean delegation's upcoming inspection mission, which will take place from May 21 to 28. The visit is organized to familiarize them with the quality control system and compliance with veterinary and sanitary standards at Belarusian enterprises exporting products to the Republic of Korea. Korean specialists will visit leading dairy processing plants in various regions of the country. Exporting plants that meet a high level of technological equipment and international production standards were selected for inspection.
it was noted that the overall goal of the Korean delegation's visit to
Belarus is to strengthen bilateral cooperation, exchange experience in ensuring food quality and safety, and prepare for inspection visits to Belarusian food industry facilities. The Ministry of Food and Drug Administration of the Republic of Korea (MFDS) is responsible for monitoring the quality and safety of food, drugs, medical devices, and cosmetics, and its agency actively participates in international cooperation aimed at harmonizing standards and improving consumer product safety.
"During the visit, the Korean side will assess production conditions, laboratory control, the internal audit system, and compliance with safety requirements. It is planned to discuss opportunities to expand trade and encourage confidence in Belarusian products on the Korean market," the agricultural ministry explained. "Following the visit, analytical reports will be compiled, which may serve as the basis for decisions regarding the admission of new batches of products to the Republic of Korea."
According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Food, expanding dialogue between Belarus and the Republic of Korea on food safety not only strengthens economic ties but also improves the overall quality and safety of exported goods. Such meetings and joint inspections are an important element of international cooperation, serving as the foundation for a long-term partnership. The current visit confirms the parties' interest in developing trade and economic ties and demonstrates Belarus's commitment to integrating into global markets through compliance with international quality standards.
