BUCE expects to increase exports of Belarusian agricultural products to Kazakhstan

May 29, MINSK . By the end of 2024 , the Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange expects to increase the volume of exchange exports of agricultural products to Kazakhstan , the BUCE press service told BELTA.

it is planned to solve this problem by expanding the range of goods sold to the market of this country, as well as by attracting additional buyers for already developed items.

In particular, within the framework of the 24th Kazakhstan international exhibition “Food, drinks, ingredients, packaging and equipment for the food industry” InterFood Astana 2024, which takes place on May 29-31 in Astana, the BUCE delegation held negotiations on cooperation with a number of Kazakh enterprises, interested in purchasing agricultural products at exchange auctions. We are talking about the import of dairy products and SUGAR, and in the future, other food products produced in Belarus.

According to BUCE, this year only sugar is sold through the exchange to Kazakhstan . At the same time, deals are concluded on a regular basis, and purchase volumes are growing. Thus, in January - May 2024, Kazakh exchange trading participants purchased 29 thousand tons of granulated white sugar, which is 4.7 times more than during the same period in 2023. Thus, today Kazakhstan is the largest buyer of sugar at BUCE.

“Agricultural products are a strategic direction of exchange trade in Belarus and Kazakhstan, therefore, the closest attention is paid to its further development. In particular, in addition to the EXPORT of sugar, dairy products can become one of the growth points of the Belarusian-Kazakh exchange trade turnover . In this regard, active searching for potential buyers of powdered MILK and whey. Among other things, information mailings, in-person and online meetings with Kazakh companies are organized, presentations and business seminars are held. Participation in the InterFood Astana exhibition is part of a comprehensive effort aimed at attracting Kazakh businesses to the exchange platform,” - the press service said.

OJSC "Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange" was created in 2004. The first auction took place in June 2005. BUCE is one of the largest commodity exchanges in Eastern Europe. The main function of the exchange is to assist Belarusian enterprises in exporting products and assist foreign companies in entering the Belarusian market. The exchange sells metal, timber, agricultural products , industrial and consumer goods of a wide range.

As of May 1, 2024, 122 residents of Kazakhstan were accredited to BUCE, including one brokerage company.
