June 3, MINSK. The Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange is ready to provide Russian companies with direct access to the largest Belarusian producers and consumers of agricultural products, as well as to assist in entering the exchange commodity market of Belarus. Such a proposal was made during the practical seminar "Actual issues of organizing business activities for Russian companies on the territory of the Republic of Belarus", organized by the Trade Representation of the Russian Federation in Belarus during the 31st international specialized exhibition "Belagro", BelTA learned from the press service of BUCE.

As Alexander Bashliy, HEAD of the foreign economic activity department of BUCE, noted, all the country's leading agricultural holdings and agro-combines are accredited and successfully operate on the stock exchange, which allows foreign bidders to quickly purchase or sell a wide range of agricultural products.

"This year, we have significantly increased trade turnover with the Russian Federation, primarily through exports. Over the past 5 months, the amount of transactions has more than tripled to $27.7 million. At the same time, agricultural products account for more than half of this volume. In particular, Belarusian dry MILK , butter, raw hides are in high demand among Russian bidders . Also, since 2021, we have started deliveries of rapeseed oil to RUSSIA," the BUCE representative noted.

Alexander Bashliy also noted the interest of the exchange in coming to the auction of producers and suppliers of oilseed meal from Russia. "Oilseed meal is one of the most sought-after commodity items at exchange auctions. Since the beginning of the year, Belarusian agricultural enterprises have purchased this product for $73.5 million, which is 33% more than in January-May 2020. I am sure that Russian companies will be able to labor to find their niche in this promising market," he stressed.

JSC "Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange" was established in 2004. The first auction took place in June 2005. BUCE is one of the largest commodity exchanges in Eastern Europe. The main function of the exchange is to assist Belarusian enterprises in exporting products and to help foreign companies enter the Belarusian market. The exchange sells metal, timber, agricultural products, industrial and consumer goods of a wide range.

The international specialized exhibition "Belagro-2021" is being held from June 1 to 5 at the exhibition center of the Chinese-Belarusian industrial park "Great Stone". The Agrarian Forum traditionally brings together not only Belarusian farmers and workers in the food and processing industry, but also their foreign colleagues and partners. This year over 400 companies from 16 countries take part in the exhibition.
