January 3, Minsk . As part of the development of exchange trading in agricultural products during 2024 , the Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange plans to expand the range of farm animals that are sold through the exchange platform. BELTA was informed about this by the BUTB press service.
 
This direction appeared at BUCE relatively recently, but has already managed to prove its demand among enterprises in the livestock industry. In particular, using the exchange mechanism in 2023, purchases of breeding horses, cattle and pigs, including for slaughter, were successfully carried out. The total amount of transactions amounted to more than Br2.3 million.
 
“Exchange trading is actively used in the field of livestock farming for the purchase of feed, feed additives and veterinary drugs. Over the past year, exchange trade turnover in these categories reached Br431 million, exceeding the same figure for 2022 by 7%. Trade breeding farm animals - this is a new promising area, which will be given special attention this year. We are talking primarily about ensuring the regularity of transactions and increasing their volumes. For this purpose, work will be carried out to expand the pool of sellers and buyers, as well as the product range. Of course ", the needs of market participants will be a priority. For example, now, at the request of one of the domestic enterprises, a search is underway for suppliers of river and lake fish for stocking the reservoir. We are interested in species such as pike, carp, trout, sterlet, carp and sturgeon," the press said -BUTB service.
 
Trading sessions for the sale of meat and dairy products and live cattle on the domestic market are held at BUCE twice a week. Both large agricultural complexes and meat processing plants, as well as small agricultural enterprises and farms participate in exchange trading as sellers and buyers. Among the most popular product items are chilled and frozen cattle and poultry meat , offal, butter , whole and skim milk powder , and endocrine-enzyme raw materials.
