Brest region intends to invest Br160 mln in MTF modernization

Br160 million is planned to be invested in the construction, repair and modernization of dairy farms in the Brest region this year, chairman of the regional executive committee Yury Shuleiko told journalists today during the opening of a new dairy complex at Vidomlyanskoye OJSC in the Kamenets district, BelTA has learned.

"This year, about 35 buildings of the MTF will either be reconstructed or built. Including there will be several complexes of the same level as in OJSC Vidomlyanskoye. Work is planned in almost all districts of the region. In total, the construction, repair and modernization of dairy farms, we allocate about Br160 million from various sources. In the Brest region, the MILK yield per cow is now almost 18.5 kg - this is the highest figure in the country," the governor said.

A new dairy complex for 1,200 heads outside the outskirts of the agricultural town of Vidomlya has grown in a year and a half. Almost half of the dairy herd of the farm can be accommodated here. The complex is an innovative automated farm, consisting of four barns and a milking parlor building, equipped with modern equipment from leading European manufacturers. The implementation of the investment project cost Br19.8 million. These are credit resources and own funds of the agricultural enterprise, including short-term loans of Savushkin Product OJSC and the Brest MEAT Processing Plant. JSC "Polesyezhilstroy" acted as the general contractor at the facility.

Yuri Shuleiko congratulated the Vidomlyansky workers on the commissioning of the new MTF and expressed confidence that such a milk factory, where the most advanced technologies have been introduced, will make a significant contribution to the development of the agricultural enterprise and the Kamenets region as a whole. "By building such complexes, we invest in the production of the highest quality agricultural raw materials, their further processing and the best dairy products. And this is not only good working conditions for agricultural workers, but also decent wages, EXPORT of products, return of currency, image of our country" , he noted.

Over the past year, Vidomlyansky produced 13.5 thousand tons of milk, or 103.4% compared to last year. The average milk yield per cow increased by 122 kg to 6365 kg. Almost all milk is sold in "extra" and "higher" varieties. The new MTF opens up new horizons for local breeders.
