BMZ invested more than Br4 million in occupational safety in 2020

Gomel, 2 March /BELTA/. BSWW, the parent company of BMZ Holding, has invested over Br4 million in safe and healthy working conditions for its employees in 2020, which is 11% more than in 2019, Press-Secretary Alexander Olesik told BELTA.

More than 75% of the allocated resources went to the purchase of protective clothing and other personal protective equipment, medical examinations and medicines, as well as to the safe working conditions of the plant employees. The rest of the expenses for labor protection fall on providing the employees with MILK (equivalent foodstuffs), detergents and disinfectants, workplace surveys, etc.

"Speaking specifically about improving working conditions, 59 measures were implemented at the BMZ in 2020. They cover 21 plant units and are aimed both at providing additional safety and improving living conditions," the spokesman noted.

For example, they installed protective mesh cages on transition bridges in the No. 2 section-rolling shop, installed a local exhaust hood in the metal-working machines area in the power repair shop, and replaced saturators and refrigerators in the eating rooms in other units.
